Gov. Kay Ivey has signed a proclamation honoring the Annual Doe Rodeo in Braggs, said an announcement by the nonprofit Cornwallis 1828 on Monday.

The Annual Doe Rodeo is described as an event that promotes conservation and helping to feed families in need.

“This recognition is not just for Cornwallis 1828,” said Demp Bell, Founder and CEO. “It belongs to every person who has stood with us, believed in this mission, and helped us serve families across the Alabama Black Belt. We are deeply grateful.”

An announcement on social media by Cornwallis 1828 stated that more than 200 does were harvested in 2025 and fed more than 13,000 people through community food banks.
