The Alabama High School Athletic Association recognized Keith High School senior Tommy Tisdale III as this week’s AHSAA Boys’ Basketball Spotlight as he achieved his 3,000th career point.

In a story on their website, AHSAA talks about how the 6-foot-3 guard and son of Keith High School principal Tommy Tisdale Jr. scored 35 points in a 59-48 victory over Class 7A Smiths Station on Dec. 27 at Tuscaloosa’s Paul Bryant High School. He then followed with scoring 28 points in a 74-70 victory over arch-rival R.C. Hatch in Uniontown in a key Class 1A, Area 6 battle.

That puts him at 3,159 points scored overall which started when he played on the Orrville school’s varsity as a seventh grader. Read more here.

Tisdale is the 15th boys’ player in AHSAA history, according to the AHSAA Record Book online at www.ahsaa.com, to score 3,000 or more points in his high school basketball career.
