Lowndes County Sheriff Christopher West was arrested for a second time after charges of harassment and obstructing government operation against him were refiled.Â
According to WSFA, Lowndes County Commissioner Robert Harris confirmed that he refiled the charges, which are the same as those that West was cleared of in January this year. Â
The charges were dismissed without prejudice, though they could be brought back again.Â
The incident first began in 2024 when a disagreement arose between Harris and West over relocating investigators in the sheriff's department to the former Hayneville Town Hall.
