Robbery suspect in Lowndes

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a suspect robbed a business and reportedly struck an employee with a pistol while doing so. 

According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers the incident took place on Jan. 13 at approximately 3 p.m. at the Pilot–Flying J on 900 Tyson Road in Hope Hull. 

A security camera captured images of the suspect walking behind the counter and taking merchandise to place inside of a gray trash can. 

"While committing the theft, the suspect was approached by a store employee," said CrimeStoppers' social media. "It was at this time the suspect struck the employee with a chrome-colored pistol and forced the employee to the ground."

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black beanie, a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants, and gray shoes.
