The Main Street Marion program was recently recognized by the statewide Main Street Alabama, giving it two awards. 

The first award was the Main Street Alabama Business Development Award of Excellence for the USDA revolving loan fund.

The second recognized Marion Military Institute President Col. David Mollahan, USMC (Ret.). 

"Your dedication to the City of Marion and Main Street Marion has had a huge impact on our revitalization efforts in the downtown and business corridor[.]" said a congratulatory post on Facebook by Main Street Marion.
