A 61-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly made a threat to the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center on Wednesday morning.Â
A statement from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Secretary Hal Taylor said that a threatening call was made to the center's crisis hotline at approximately 10:30 a.m.Â
A lockdown was placed on the center as a result.Â
"Special Agents with (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) responded to assist with the lockdown and search for the suspect," the statement said. "Further investigation led to the arrest of Michael Barnett, 61, at his residence in Camp Hill."
Barnett has been charged with making terroristic threats and rendering false alarm to a hospital. He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail under a $18,000 bond.
Following the arrest the lockdown at the Central Alabama Veterans Medical Center was lifted.
