Man from Florida dies in Butler County wreck on Saturday

A man from Pensacola, Florida died during a two-vehicle wreck on Saturday afternoon. 

According to WSFA, the accident took place on Interstate 65 in Butler County. The man, Robert M. Thomas, 77, died after his vehicle hit a tractor-trailer truck, being driven by Jose Manuel Valin Cano, 38, of Miami Gardens, Florida.

Thomas was reportedly ejected from the car in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, Gail A. Thomas, also of Pensacola, was taken to a hospital in Greenville for treatment. Cano was also transported for injuries. 

The accident is said to have taken place at around 4:50 p.m. on Interstate 65 approximately four miles south of Greenville.
