Mark's Mart in Selma is set to be featured in an episode of Simply Southern TV on July 23 and will be rebroadcast on July 26.
The premiere will be at 10:30 a.m. on WAKA-TV 8 in Montgomery on July 23. This will be followed by a rebroadcast on national cable network RFD-TV on July 26 at 3 p.m.
“With its specialty meats and fine wines, Mark’s Mart may look like a European market, but it is every bit a Southern institution,” said Simply Southern reporter Melissa Bowman.
“The specialty market, which has been part of the Selma community for over 40 years, carries a variety of Alabama-made products and is known for such culinary creations as the Chicken Swirl. We learned more about this delicacy and why it has earned countless fans in Selma and beyond.”
The episode will also be featured on these channels:
- WLTZ-TV 38 in Columbus, Georgia, on Saturdays at 5 p.m.
- WPMI-TV 15 in Mobile on Sundays at 6 a.m.
- WBMA-TV 33/40 in Birmingham on Sundays at 6:30 a.m.
- WAFF-TV 48 in Huntsville on Sundays at 9 a.m.
- WTVY-TV 4 in Dothan on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
- RFD-TV cable network on Wednesdays at 3 p.m.
