The Marion Military Institute (MMI) and its Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program have established a ten-year strategic partnership with the goal to incentivize high school students to enroll at the institute.
A statement from MMI said that the the ROTC now offers financial incentives through the Patriot Pipeline initiative for 10 incoming college freshmen that are nominated annually by the Alabama congressional delegation.
“I’m proud to be part of a team that’s breaking down barriers for our future officers,” said MMI Professor of Military Science LTC Joshua P. Hollingsworth. “Thanks to President Mollahan and the MMI executive staff, we’re creating real opportunities for students who want to serve, lead, and make a difference. That’s what this agreement is all about.”
It begins in 2026 and selected applicants will receive and MMI room and board scholarship.
All non-scholarship freshmen contracting into the Early Commissioning Program will be granted in-state tuition, the statement said, and those who have earned an ROTC scholarship will receive tuition and fee deferment until contracting.
