An Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) correctional officer trainee was arrested in Monroe County on a charge of possession of marijuana. 

According to a press release from ADOC, Larry Wilson Jr. was pulled over by a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy. During a search of the vehicle he was reportedly found to have approximately 50 grams of marijuana.

After his arrest Wilson was taken to the Monroe County Jail and now faces a charge of possession of marijuana in the first degree. 

An investigation was then kicked off by ADOC Law Enforcement Services Division Narcotics agents. 

Along with K-9 officers, and members of The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Metro Area Crime Suppression (MACS) Unit a search was conducted at Wilson's residence in Montgomery. Approximately five pounds of marijuana and two firearms were seized. 

The press release stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
