Montgomery Fire/Rescue District Fire Chief Jonathan D. Phillips has retired after a 21-year stint in the department. 

An announcement from Montgomery Fire/Rescue stated that Phillips joined on Nov. 19, 2004. 

"Chief Phillips has been a steady and trusted leader, known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to the men and women of Montgomery Fire/Rescue," the announcement states. "His contributions have contributed to the growth and excellence of our department."

"As he begins this new chapter, we extend our deepest appreciation for his service, leadership, and sacrifice. Chief Phillips leaves behind a legacy of commitment that will continue to influence future generations of firefighters."
