Montgomery Fire & Rescue (MFR) was the gold medal champion in the standard boat category at the 2025 Dragon Boat Festival held on Saturday.Â
"MFR demonstrated exceptional skill by winning each heat and securing the championship title with a remarkable time of 1:03," said a post on MFR's social media.Â
The team consisted of Captain J. B. Piatt, Captain B. M. Wilkerson, Captain W. B. Poe, Lieutenant C. L. Rich, Lieutenant D. T. Wood, Lieutenant J. M. Smith, Sergeant T. G. Camp, Firefighter D. L. Bozeman, Firefighter J. D. Campbell, Firefighter C. T. Sumrall, Firefighter W. N. Taylor, Firefighter J. A. Drinkard, Firefighter L. R. Lowery, J. Bozeman, D. Piatt, B. Yow, K. Smirnoff, W. Lawley, B. Smith, M. Rich, C. Driggers, M. Logan, and S. Anderson.
"Please join us in extending our sincerest appreciation for their exceptional performance and congratulations on becoming the 2025 Dragon Boat Gold Medal winners," the post said.
