Montgomery firefighters rescued a family pet from a recent burning structure on Placid Drive.

"Upon arrival, units reported heavy smoke visible from the rear of the structure and declared a W-3 working fire," said a post on the department's social media.

As firefighters searched the building they found the pet and it was treated at the scene with oxygen by medics.

No other injuries were reported during the incident, which is currently being reviewed by the Bureau of Investigations.
