Quinn Lee from Montgomery is a graduate of the University of Alabama (UA) who shared her experience in a recent story shared by the school.

Lee graduates with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Mathematics through the Accelerated Master's Program and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography.

"There are truly too many people to thank, but one of the first professors and advisors I had who took a real interest in me and my goals was Dr. Jason Senkbeil," she shared. "I have an unconventional degree combination and had a hard time finding any mentors who were willing to work with my interests, but Dr. Senkbeil always took the time to listen to me. I knew I was passionate about both math and geography, but without his encouragement, I wouldn't have had the confidence to pursue both academically and professionally. If it hadn't been for him taking a chance on me, encouraging me, and sending out my resume to who is now my current employer, I would not be where I am now!"

"I switched degree programs, pushed majors and minors around, picked up and dropped programs so many times during my time at UA. It is totally okay to not know what you want to do, and it is totally okay to change your mind. There is something to be learned in every opportunity and experience, so meet as many people as possible, say yes to new things, and don't stress about having a perfect plan."
