Montgomery Public Schools has received an improved grade from the latest state report cards by the Alabama State Department of Education.

In the 2024-2025 state report card the district went from a 74 to a 75, said a recent announcement.

"This year's report card shows that Montgomery Public Schools is moving in the right direction," said Superintendent Zickeyous Byrd. "We are seeing growth across our district in all areas to include academic achievement, academic growth, college and career readiness, graduation rate and chronic absenteeism."

"This report card is a milestone, not a finish line. Thanks to all of our hard working employees, families and communities. Greater progress is ahead for the students and families of Montgomery."
