An animal park is offering a hilarious Valentine's Day gift for jilted visitors - naming a cockroach after ex-lovers.

The Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife Conservation Park is giving people the chance to get some light-hearted revenge on old flames.

For just £3.95 (over $5), scorned lovers can pick a name which will be added to a special 'roach board'.

The board will be on display in the exhibit throughout February at the park in Sheffield, so former partners can visit their insect former lover.

Once someone has named a cockroach they will be sent a digital certificate as a keepsake.

A park spokesperson said: "It's that time of year again, Valentine's Day, I'm sure you're all very excited.

"But here in the butterfly house, we are doing a name a cockroach after your ex again.

"It doesn't just have to be an, just someone you don't particularly like.

"So if you want to partake, it's £3.95. You can pick whichever cockroach you want, they are everywhere and you can name them any name.

"We'll put it on the board and put it up in the butterfly house for you to be able to see.

"If you want to do it, log onto our website and you'll be able to.

"Good luck and happy Valentine's Day."
