BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Museum of the Rockies unveiled "Sue: The T. rex Experience," featuring the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered, on Saturday.Â
Scott Williams, the museum's director of exhibitions, expressed excitement about hosting Sue, calling it a "dino-mite" moment. He said, "As the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex specimen ever found, Sue is a rock star of the dinosaur world."
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Sue's world through various interactive exhibits. Highlights include a 40-foot-long skeleton cast, a life-sized model of Sue in a battle with an Edmontosaurus, and digital animations of the prehistoric environment.
The exhibition also features hands-on stations where visitors can touch bronze casts of Sue's bones, hear a T. rex growl, and even experience the smell of Sue's breath.
Jaap Hoogstraten, director of exhibitions at the Field Museum in Chicago, emphasized the importance of showcasing Sue. "Sue is the crown jewel of the Field’s collections, and now we’re finally showcasing them the way they deserve," he stated.
