Beautiful pictures show the elaborate Christmas wreaths that decorate this iconic street each year.

Twelve Georgian homes in Edinburgh's New Town have displayed their wreaths on brightly colored doors - crafted from flowers, baubles and greenery.

Decorations become more extravagant each year - with this year's display featuring a redcurrant and cranberry wreath set against a baby blue door, a striking silver and white display, and one wreath made entirely of colorful baubles.

New Town, which was designated a UNESCO heritage site in 1995, is known for its vibrant doors - with the wreaths providing an extra festive splash of color.
