Photos show a dog pulled to safety by firefighters after he was spotted perched on a cliff ledge.

Lurcher-collie cross Storm went over the edge and was stranded 20m (66ft) down a cliff east of Seatown, in Dorset.

Bridport and Beaminster fire crews lowered down and placed the dog in a rescue bag before lifting her back up to her owners.

A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said: "The dog was successfully recovered and reunited with its owners, thankfully unharmed.

"No matter how well trained your pet is, accidents can happen all too easily. Our advice is to keep dogs on a lead when walking along cliff paths."
