HAMILTON, MT – More than $5.9 million in federal funding is set to enhance infrastructure and public safety in Ravalli, Mineral and Lake Counties. This funding is part of the $35 million secured for fiscal year 2026.
In Ronan, $547,500 has been allocated to the Ronan Volunteer Fire Department for a new Type 1 fire truck and $200,000 for Lake County's Law Enforcement Resiliency Project. Ronan Mayor and Lieutenant Volunteer Firefighter Ryan Corum emphasized the importance of reliable equipment, saying, "This new Type 1 fire truck will strengthen our ability to respond to fires and emergencies across the Ronan area."
Superior will receive $725,000 for law enforcement upgrades in Mineral County. Mineral County Sheriff Ryan Funke highlighted the impact of this funding, stating, "Their dedication to ensuring small counties are not overlooked was evident through the appropriation grant awarded to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office."
In Hamilton, $2.5 million is designated for a new Ravalli County Wastewater Treatment Plant, $1 million for repairs to Old Corvallis Road and $1 million to replace the Groff Lane Bridge. Ravalli County Commissioner Jeff Burrows noted the significance of these projects, saying, "Projects like the new wastewater treatment plant, improvements to Old Corvallis Road and the replacement of the Groff Lane Bridge will improve safety, protect our natural resources and support the needs of our growing communities."
These investments aim to strengthen infrastructure and support first responders in Western Montana, contributing to community safety and development.
