IndyCar adds Texas street race for 2026

AT&T Stadium, the home venue for the NFL Dallas Cowboys, will be the site of a new IndyCar street race next March

IndyCar will add a new street race in suburban Dallas next year, with the IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington contested around the home stadiums of NFL and MLB teams.

The US-based open-wheel series announced on Thursday the event will be staged March 15 on a 2.73-mile, 14-turn layout around AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL Dallas Cowboys, and Globe Life Field, home of baseball's Texas Rangers.

"The IndyCar Grand Prix of Arlington is definitely circled on the calendar," Mexican IndyCar driver Pato O'Ward said. "Texans love racing and they love big events. So, this is going to be mega."

Dallas-area resident Santino Ferrucci, another IndyCar racer, expects a fast pace along the street circuit.

"The course layout is really unique and will let us reach top speeds, making the racing incredibly exciting," Ferrucci said.

IndyCar conducted races at Texas Motor Speedway in nearby Fort Worth from 1997 through 2023.
