Sparkettes of Montana are in need of county land to keep The Trail of Terror going.
Great Falls, Montana— The Sparkettes of Montana said their Trail of Terror may not happen this year unless they can find a new place to hold it.
The group had started the haunted house at the Montana ExpoPark in 2003 and used the property at 47th Street and 13th Avenue for more than a decade. That land was recently sold. They said they believed they had another site lined up, but city permitting requirements blocked that option from moving forward this year.
In a Facebook public message, the group said it now needs five to 10 acres of unusable land somewhere in the community. They said the property cannot be in the city and needs to be in the county.
The group shared why the event matters to them and the meaning it holds to the community.
''Just to let you know this does not just support our non profit but the community. Everything we earn goes back into the program. We have no employees everyone is a volunteer. We have so many young ladies that have really succeeded in life,'' The Sparkettes of Montana Trail of Terror Facebook said.
