MISSOULA, Mont. – Sushi Hana Downtown, a beloved Japanese restaurant in Missoula, has announced its closure. The restaurant shared the news on Facebook, stating, "This NYE is the last one for Sushi Hana Downtown. So many thank yous and so many apologies (hopefully much less than thank yous) through these 20 years since we moved from Reserve St. to Downtown."
Sushi Hana Downtown, Montana's original Japanese restaurant, has been a staple in the downtown Missoula community. Known for its authentic Japanese cuisine, the restaurant offers a variety of dishes including sushi, ramen, curry, teriyaki, katsu, and tempura. It also boasts a carefully curated sake collection with over 30 selections, along with a full beer and wine list.
The restaurant first opened its doors in 1998, marking a significant milestone as the first sushi bar and Japanese restaurant in Montana.
The owners expressed their gratitude to patrons, saying, "We are not going to be done end of the year, but we know for sure this NYE is going to be the last one. We will keep you updated."
Sushi Hana Downtown has been a cherished part of the Missoula dining scene, offering a unique and authentic Japanese dining experience. The community will surely feel the loss of this iconic establishment.
