The Optimist Club of Selma is sponsoring a Respect for Law/Bicycle and Internet Safety Awareness Fair Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Selma YMCA.
Presenters will be Det. Dorothy Cowan, Lt. Evelyn Ghant and McGruff the Crime Dog representing the Selma Police Department, and Jelisia Dear, Wilcox County technician.
Children will be taught bicycle care tips and how to be safe when cycling. Presenters will also discuss peer pressure, cyberbullying and physical bullying. There will be refreshments and door prizes and a bicycle giveaway.
Optimist International is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that seeks to empower youth.
