Demopolis native Dr. Selwyn Vickers was recently named CEO and president of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
According to media reports, Vickers is a member of Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and leaves his position of CEO of UAB Health System and the UAB/Ascension of St. Vincent's Alliance.Â
He also served as dean of the Heersink School of Medicine. He completed surgical training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Hospital.Â
