University of Alabama (UA) students from Plantersville and Montgomery received study abroad grants from the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.Â
Spencer Lindemood of Montgomery and Preston McGee of Plantersville were among 125 students throughout the nation to be recipients.Â
"The grants are designed to support undergraduates, both members and nonmembers from campuses that have Phi Kappa Phi chapters, as they seek expanded knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad," said a press release from UA.
Recipients are given $1,000 each. According to the press release grants are given based on academic achievement, campus and community service, relation of travel to academic preparation and career goals.Â
Lindemood is a junior majoring in psychology at The University of Alabama. He plans to study abroad in Florence, Italy at the Florence University of the Arts.
McGee is a senior majoring in management and political science at The University of Alabama. He will study in Porto, Portugal at the European Innovation Academy.
