Authorities are searching for a person suspected of stealing a check from a business in Prattville and depositing it in a Montgomery bank.Â
According to CrimeStoppers, the check was mailed by the Prattville business but intercepted on May 27 and altered to make it payable to "Darrell Gibson".Â
"It remains unclear whether Darrell Gibson is connected to the original account," said CrimeStoppers on social media.Â
The check was deposited at Credit Union in Montgomery in the amount of $9,875.45.Â
"Surveillance images show the individual involved in the transaction taking steps to conceal their identity," said Crimestoppers. "The suspect covered their face and obscured the vehicle’s license plate using what appeared to be an apron."
Anyone who has information is asked to contact Crimestoppers at the 215-STOP (7867) 24-hour tip line, 1-833-AL1-STOP, download the P3-tips app, or the text-to-tip feature by texting keyword 215stop to 738477.
