The Coalition of Concerned Families (CCF) is asking the public to take part in Yellow Ribbon Week from June 13 to 19 to remember the victims of COVID.

CCF recently met with the Selma City Council and the Dallas County Commission about the effort and has received their pledge to support the occasion.

The color yellow was chosen to represent "empathy and sorrow". Businesses and homeowners are asked to hang a yellow ribbon on their doors to honor those who have passed from the virus.

The public in Dallas County is also invited to participate in "Yellow Ribbon Day" on June 18.

On the following day a memorial for COVID victims at the Jazz on the Grazz Music Festival will be observed.

A pause in the festival will be done to allow families to say the names of loved ones allowed and a memory banner will be presented to write the names of victims and the date of their passing.

A Facebook page for CCF with information, can be seen here.
