An excessive amount of rainfall recently caused flooding on Dumas and Harmony streets in Montgomery, prompting a response from Montgomery Fire/Rescue units on Tuesday.

On its social media the department said that the rain caused an overflow of the nearby creeks, which flooded into the roads. The dive team was roused to pick up residents who were trapped in their homes.

"Please be aware that flood waters can be filled with a host of dangers even if the water appears to be safe and it is best to avoid wading or driving through it," said a post on Facebook.

Residents were urged to evacuate if they were able. No significant injuries or need for medical treatment was reported during the incident.
