RCA Foundation serving several counties, including three in the Black Belt, received $149,777 from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs for its drug treatment program.
It was among others in the state to be part of a $400,000 grant from ADECA to assist with drug treatment and provide equipment for law enforcement agencies.
“Our law enforcement officers work around the clock to protect and serve our communities, and these grants will fund projects that will make conditions safer for everyone involved in law enforcement encounters, including the officers themselves,” said Gov. Ivey in an online announcement.
“In addition, enhanced drug treatment will help offenders turn their lives around and give them a chance at leading productive and fulfilling lives. I commend everyone involved in bringing these projects to fruition.”
The foundation serves Autauga, Butler, Conecuh, Crenshaw, Elmore and Lowndes counties. The program is aimed at treating those who have pled guilty to drug charges or are being monitored by a court referral program.
