Southern Poverty Law Center hosts a Wreath Laying ceremony in Montgomery at 1 p.m. followed by a Capitol Rally. Featured speakers include Margaret Huang, president and CEO of the Southern Poverty Law Center and its lobbying arm, the SPLC Action Fund. Tafeni English-Relf, director of the Civil Rights Memorial Center and the SPLC’s Alabama State Office, U.S. Rep. The Bending the Arc Project will screen its film The Vote—the story of the 1965 Selma voting rights marches—twice during the 2025 Selma Jubilee weekend. On Friday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m., the film will be screened at the Walton Theater (1000 Selma Avenue in Selma), followed by a Q & A with Ms. Lynda Lowery, who, at age 15, participated in the 1965 Selma marches.
