The Selma Charity League will host Groovin' on the Green on April 9 to feature food and live music from Selma native Ben Brooks at Sturdivant Hall.
Tickets will go on sale on Feb. 25 at 10 a.m. though they will be limited this year. Prices are $50 for a single attendant and $90 for couples. They include admission, food and drinks.
Funds raised at the event will go to the Selma-Dallas County Public Library's Summer Reading Program, which draws an estimated 6,000 kids each summer.
“The library is a place where everyone in Selma feels welcomed,” said Selma Charity League President Kimberly Levins. “We are very excited to come together with our community to support and celebrate such a worthwhile organization.”
Drinks are donated by Bama Bud and Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Selma.
Sponsorships and tickets are available via a Selma Charity League Member. Tickets can also be bought here.
