Selma City Council repopulates dormant industrial board appoints former Mayor George Evans to water board

A public hearing to consider refinancing up to $50 million in bonds issued in 2011 will be held at the Center for Commerce Building at 912 Selma Ave on Thursday Aug. 25, according to a legal notice in the Selma Sun.

The Selma City Council has repopulated the dormant Industrial Development Board and made a new appointment to the Selma Water and Sewer Board.  

The Industrial Development Board is being reconstituted so that bonds for International Paper Company’s Riverdale Mill can be refinanced. A public hearing to consider refinancing up to $50 million in bonds issued in 2011 will be held at the Center for Commerce Building at 912 Selma Ave on Thursday Aug. 25, according to a legal notice in the Selma Sun.

Appointees to the Industrial Development Board are Andrew Stewart, Catesby Jones, Jerria Martin, J. David McCormack, Edward T. Livingston, Alphonse E. Perry and Corey Bowie.

The council also appointed former Selma Mayor George Evans to replace current city councilman Michael Johnson on the Selma Water and Sewer Board.
