The Selma City Council will soon be addressing noise, loose dogs and All-Terrain Vehicles on city streets.

Council President Warren “Billy” Young told the council at their Feb. 22 meeting that they could see a leash law and ordinances covering noise and ATVs as soon as the next council meeting.

The noise ordinance, which is based on a similar ordinance in Tuscaloosa, will address fireworks, and may include a higher fine for excessive noise, Young said. Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford is reviewing the ordinance to make sure it’s enforceable, according to Young.
