The Selma-Dallas County NAACP is inviting the public to its November Is Coming Community Rally at Bloch Park on Oct. 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.Â
The nonpartisan event is themed around voter education and civic participation.Â
There are confirmed and tentative candidates that will appear on the November ballot. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and get information.Â
"We believe voting is an important right and responsibility, but civic engagement should go beyond Election Day," said Rev. Lawrence Wofford. "Communities also need opportunities to come together, listen to one another, learn about the people seeking to represent them, and stay engaged in local decisions."
The rally will feature voter registration assistance, ballot education, community resources, live performances, food trucks, and giveaways.
