Selma attorney Faya Rose Toure has brought a lawsuit against former Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson for alleged defamation over an advertisement.Â
According to WAKA, Jackson stated that he paid $200 for an ad in a Bridge Crossing Jubilee newspaper that he said never ran.Â
Toure has disputed the claim, saying that it did run but in a different edition. She said that Jackson claimed that she stole the $200 and that it has impacted her as an attorney and civil rights activist.Â
Both parties in the lawsuit were reportedly present in court for a case review.Â
They are due to return to court on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.Â
