A Selma man was killed in a shooting Saturday night, becoming the city's 10th homicide of 2025.

Selma police are investigating the death of Pollard Moultrie, who was shot in an apartment complex in the 100 block of Beech Creek Lane, according to Selma Police Chief Kenta Fulford.

Fulford said police responded to shots fired at 11:50 p.m. Saturday and found Pollard Moultrie, 59, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the Vaughan Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to UAB where he succumbed to his injuries, Fulford said.

Fulford says detectives are interviewing witnesses in the case.
