Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. and the Office of Planning and Development will hold a press conference tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. where they'll announce the first home built under the Safe Livable Neighborhoods Recovery Initiative or SLNRI.

"The City of Selma has partnered with Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), Selma Housing Authority, and PERC Selma - Foot Soldiers Park to help revitalize neighborhoods, but most importantly to help residents of Selma get qualified for financing to purchase these new homes or make repairs to existing home via character based lending practices," said a statement from the city.

At the press conference, officials will announce the 27-unit home development in disaster area 1, as well as allow the public to view the modular home process and hear from recovery partners.

The press conference will be held on 1425 Washington Street in Selma.
