Selma resident named deputy for Central District of Alabama Elks Association

Eric Allison of Selma was named the District Deputy lodges in the Central District of the Alabama Elks Association at a convention in Atlanta, GA. 

The association is part of the Benevolent and Protective Order (BPO) of Elks of the United States of America, a fraternal organization founded in 1868 that does charity work. 

According to a press release, the BPO donates more than $375 million in cash, goods and services each year to those in need. They also provide more than $4.5 million in scholarships. 

Allison will serve a one-year term in the BPO Central Alabama District.
