Amy Carmichael and her family will be honored at the UAB women's basketball game as part of the Play4Kay game.

A Selma woman battling cancer is being highlighted by a national cancer fund during the University of Alabama at Birmingham women’s basketball team on Wednesday.

Amy Carmichael of Selma will be honored at the UAB vs Wichita State game at Bartow Arena at 6 p.m. Wednesday as part of the annual Play4Kay game that supports the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Carmichael, along with her husband, Selma City Councilman Clay Carmichael, and their two children will be recognized at the game that will also serve as a fundraiser for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund that is named for the legendary Hall of Fame women’s basketball coach who fought cancer.
