Severe storms for much of the Black Belt is possible this afternoon and a tornado watch is in effect until 4 p.m. 

The Black Belt region is under an enhanced risk for severe weather, according to the Weather Forecast Office. This carries the possibility of damaging winds up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.

The public is advised to stay up to date with weather reports and take precautions as needed.
