Severe weather for parts of the Black Belt is possible on Wednesday afternoon to Thursday evening. 

According to the National Weather Service the main threat will be potentially damaging winds gusting up to 60 mph. 

On Wednesday part of Dallas County along with Perry, Marengo, Hale, Greene, Sumter and Choctaw counties are under a slight risk. 

On Thursday Marengo, part of Hale, Dallas, Montgomery, Lowndes, Bullock, Macon, Barbour and Russell counties will also be under a slight risk. 

The public is advised to have multiple ways to get alerts, have access to shelter, and check for updates.
