Lydia Chatmon honored with 'Millennial Award' by Women Shaping Our Community

Lydia Chatmon will be among the nine to be honored at the event. 

The Gamma Alpha Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated will celebrate its Finer Womanhood Observance on March 29 where nine community leaders will be honored. 

The following will receive the Spirit of HOPE Award:

  • Mae Frances Brown
  • Lydia Chatmon
  • Monica Blevins Gayle
  • Althelstein Mixon Johnson
  • Rev. James Perkins Jr.
  • Minister Carolyn Robinson
  • Honorable State Senator Robert Stewart
  • Thamar Taylor
  • Tamika Peoples Towner

"Each of these awardees represents the spirit of service to others and excellence in leadership that demonstrates the selfless service that supports others excelling within the community," said a press release from the sorority. "Their work continues to inspire hope, strengthen families, and promote improving the quality of life in Dallas County."

Christian comedian Rev. Dr. Lynntesha Roberts Henley will give a performance.

The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the YNOT Entertainment Center on 2940 County Road 27.
