South Arts is taking applications for three programs to support artists in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
A press release from South Arts said that artists and arts organizations in the Southeast receive 50% of funding, a quarter of what Northeast artists are granted by comparison.Â
These programs will be taking applications:Â
Southern Prize & State Fellowships: Open through Feb. 12. 18 artists will be selected to each receive a $5,000 State Fellowship. The program will select nine visual and nine literary artists. See here for more information.Â
Cultural Sustainability: Open through Feb. 5. 12 arts organizations in minority communities will be supported with $1.14 million in grants. See here for more information.Â
Southern Arts Relief & Recovery Fund: Open indefinitely. The fund support those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton with rapid-response micro-grants starting at $500 and final amounts to be determined. See here for more information.Â
EDIT: This story was updated to include the extension of the Southern Prize & State Fellowships to Feb. 5.Â
