Southside football players standout at UA’s 7v7

Southside football players Derick Smith Jr. and Eric Smith met University of Alabama coach Nick Saban.

The Southside High School football program competed in the 7v7 at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

Southside competed against some of the top schools out of Georgia and Thompson, Ala. Upcoming sophomore Derick Smith was a standout there and has recently met and talked with Alabama’s head coach Nick Saban. Smith has received several football offers, including one from The University of Alabama.

Southside head coach Charles Moody stated he wanted to make sure they attended this 7v7 to give the kids more exposure and experiences against high-level talent. He also said his OL and DL competed very well.
