The Alabama Supreme Court has ruled that the members of the Wilcox Board of Education can be sued over allegedly failing to fire a principal who was convicted of sexual harrassment.

According to legalnewswire the plaintiff, whose identity was not revealed and is called Jane Doe, accused Wilcox County Central High School Principal James Thomas of sexual harrassment, for which he was convicted of.

The case alleges members of the board of taking money to keep silent when James was accused of misconduct.

Five members of the board are involved in the case. The court rejected their plea to dismiss the case under sovereign immunity, allow it to go forward.
