A woman from Ward died in a traffic accident on Alabama 17 on Sunday evening, said a report from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. 

At approximately 7:29 p.m. Iesha L. Pritchett, 34, was killed when the 2002 Buick Century that she was driving struck a 2023 Nissan Kicks being driven by Rolandus S. Ward, 34, also of Ward. The Nissan left the road and overturned after the initial impact. 

Despite being airlifted to DCH, Pritchett died of her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash took place. Ward was also injured and taken to a center in Mississippi. 

The accident occurred on Alabama 17 near Sumter County 42, approximately 11 miles south of York.
