Rep. Terri Sewell is accepting applications from those who live in the seventh district for Military Service Academy nominations.
The deadline to apply is Nov. 19.
“Each year I have the great privilege of nominating a select number of applicants to four of the Military Service Academies,” said Sewell.
“This is one of my most satisfying duties as a Member of Congress, and I am thrilled to announce that the official 2021 nominating process for Military Service Academies is open!”
In addition to being legally domiciled in the seventh district, applicants must complete the form online to be considered.
Submissions can be sent via mail addressed to the Office of Congresswoman Terri A. Sewell at Two 20th Street North, Suite 1130 in Birmingham, AL, 35203.
Applications will be taken for the following academies:
- The United States Air Force Academy
- The United States Naval Academy
- The United States Coast Guard Academy (Nominations are not required for this)
- The United States Merchant Marine Academy
- The United States Military Academy at West Point
After nominations are made, Sewell will host a preview day with the academies and the Marion Military Institute, as well as a graduate of the United States Naval Academy who will answer questions.
