Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-7) is taking applications to nominate a limited number of people from the seventh district to be entered into four of five military service academies.
Submissions are due on Nov. 6. Eligible applicants must be at least 17 years old but no older than 23. They must be U.S. citizens, unmarried, not pregnant and have no legal obligations to children or dependents.Â
Applicants may be nominated to four academies: United States Air Force, Naval, Military, and Merchant Marines. Â
"The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation." Sewell states on her website. "Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country."
