The Nancy Gardner Sewell Multi-Cancer Early Detection Act has been signed into law, said an announcement from Rep. Terri Sewell (AL-07) on Wednesday.

The bill seeks to increase access to cancer detection. It was named after Sewell's mother, who passed away from the illness.

"I join millions of Americans in celebrating this historic victory which will help transform the way we detect, diagnose, and treat cancer for seniors all across America," shared Sewell on social media. "We did it, Mommy."
